Before we get into the instructions, itβs important to understand: Xiaomi offers two types of date display: the metadata (hidden EXIF data visible only in the file properties) and the image itself (visible labeling).
Method 1: Include date marking in Xiaomi camera settings

- β Save Changes (select Save as a Copy to avoid losing the original).
π‘ Useful advice: If you need to process a lot of photos, use batch editing. To do this, highlight a few pictures in the Gallery, click More β Edit and apply the text to all selected files at the same time.
Every day.
1-2 times a week
Rarely, only when necessary.
I never take a picture.-->
Please note: the date added through the editor will not be synchronized with the EXIF-If you want the date to match the actual date, use the specialized applications in the next section.
Method 3: Third-party applications for automatic date in the photo
If the built-in MIUI tools don't suit you, consider third-party apps, which offer more customization options: font selection, automatic date determination from EXIF, batch processing, and even geotags.
Top.-3 Applications for Xiaomi Redmi:

Method 4: Use EXIF-Methods (for advanced users)
If you want the date to be stored in the metadata of the photo (rather than displayed on top of the image), you can edit it. EXIF-This method is suitable for professionals or cases where you need to keep the original view of the image, but still have the correct date in the properties of the file.

Method 5: Manually add date via Photoshop Express or Snapseed
If you need to not just set a date, but beautifully design it in a photo (for example, for publication in social networks or print), use professional editors. Photoshop Express and Snapseed from Google are free and offer ample design options.

- Open the photo in the app.
- Select the text tool (sign T).
- Click Add Text and enter the date manually or copy it from the file properties.
- Customize style: Choose a font (e.g. Handwriting for informal style), color, and transparency.
- Move the text to the right place and save the project.
π¨ Design advice:
- ποΈ For official documents, use sans serif fonts (such as Arial or Roboto).
- π For travel, bright colors and handwritten fonts are suitable.
- π Place the date in the corner of the picture so as not to cover important details.
- π Increase text contrast if the background of the photo is dark.

When you add a date manually, always check that it is correct, and a single digit error can make the photo unsuitable for official use (e.g. in court or bank).
