Xiaomi 11 Lite: Why Standard Methods Don’t Always Work
Xiaomi 11 Lite (including 5G and NE versions) is equipped with a proprietary shell MIUI, which offers several ways to take screenshots. However, many users face problems: the combination of buttons does not work because of the case, the three-finger gesture conflicts with other functions, the voice assistant Google Assistant stubbornly ignores the command. In this article, we will analyze all the current methods, from classic to hidden, and also tell you how to customize them for yourself.
The Xiaomi 11 Lite feature is that it came with different firmware versions, from MIUI 12.5 to MIUI 14. Depending on this, there may be different paths in the settings menu and the availability of certain features. Method 1: Classic button combination (always working)
The most reliable method, which is independent of the version of MIUI or the applications installed, is suitable even if the touch screen is jammed or turned off. You only need two physical buttons:

- 🕒 Hold them together. 1-2 seconds until you hear the shutter sound or see the animation.
- 📁 The finished screenshot will be saved in the gallery in the Screenshots folder.

Method 2: Three finger gesture (fastest)
The three-finger screenshot feature allows you to take a screenshot in one motion without taking your hands off the display, and it's disabled by default, so you need to activate it first:
- Open Settings → Additional → Special features → Gestures and movements → Screenshot with three fingers.
- Switch the slider to the position on.
- Select action: Take a screenshot or Scrolling Scrolling Shot (for long pages).
Now to take a screenshot:
- Place three fingers on the screen (no matter which one).
- Swipe them down with a little pressure (as if you were shaking off the screen).
- Release your fingers after vibration or sound.

Method 3: Voice commands (for fans of smart assistants)
If you are too lazy to press buttons or make gestures, you can instruct the voice assistant to create screenshots. Xiaomi 11 Lite supports two options:

To activate voice control:
- For Google Assistant: Open Settings → Google → Settings for Google apps → Search, Assistant and Voice. Turn on Hey Google and teach voice.

- Deploy the notification bar (swipe down from the top edge of the screen).

- Find a screenshot in the list and drag it to the active area.
- Press Ready.

- Deploy the notification panel.
- Stick on the Screenshot icon.

MIUI offers a few hidden features that make it even more convenient to work with screenshots.
- 📜 Long screenshot (scroll): Take a normal screenshot in any way. Immediately after the thumbnail appears, tap it and select Scrolling. The screen automatically scrolls down, capturing all the content (works in browsers, instant messengers, social networks).
- ✏️ Editing on the fly: After you take a screenshot, tap the thumbnail in the bottom right corner. An editor will open where you can crop the image, add text or drawings.
- 🔄 Auto Remove Duplicates: Include in Settings → Warehouse → Cleaning option Remove repeated screenshots.
Another useful option is to change the format of the save. By default, screenshots are saved to PNG, but you can switch to JPEG (less weight) or WEBp (better quality with a small size).
