Unlike new models, there is no universal gesture “triple touch”, and the combination of buttons sometimes work unstable due to the features of the firmware MIUI. In this article, we will analyze all the current methods, from standard to hidden functions, which are not known by everyone.

It's important to understand that the methods may differ depending on the version of MIUI (e.g. MIUI 12 and MIUI 14 have different gesture settings). We tested each method on the Redmi Note 7 with the latest stable firmware and highlighted the only method that works even when the system is getting stuck - a combination of buttons with a pinched power. 1. Standard method: "Power + Volume Reduction" buttons

This is a basic method that works on 99% of Xiaomi devices, including the Redmi Note 7.

1. Open the screen you want to save.
2. At the same time, press the power button (right) and the volume reduction button (left).
3. Hold for 1-2 seconds until you hear the shutter sound or see an animation of the screenshot.

⚠️ Note: If you have a magnetic lock case installed (e.g. Xiaomi Smart Cover), the power button may be blocked. In this case, try pressing a little harder or removing the case.

2. Alternative method: Food + Home button (for MIUI 10 and below)

This is a good way to use it for users who haven’t updated the firmware to MIUI 11+. Instead of the volume button, the touch button is called Home (if it’s active in the settings).

1. Activate navigation buttons in Settings → Display → Navigation Bar (select “Buttons” mode).

If you need to take a screenshot as quickly as possible, use the Quick Access Panel, which works in any version of MIUI and does not require remembering the combinations:

1. Open the screen you want to save.
2. Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to open the notification bar.
3. Find the screenshot icon** (usually hidden under the Edit button).
4. Slip it on it - the screenshot will be taken instantly.
