Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is one of the most popular smartphones in the budget segment, but its custom Power button (with a built-in fingerprint sensor) often confuses users. If you are used to the classic Power + Volume Down combination, it may not work on the Poco X3 Pro β or it will work unexpectedly. In this article, we will analyze all the current ways to create screenshots, including hidden MIUI functions, and also tell you how to automate the process and where to find saved pictures.
The model features a physical Power button with a touch scanner that sometimes conflicts with keyboard shortcuts. In addition, MIUI 14/15 has new gesture commands that many people don't know about, and we've tested all the methods on firmware V14.0.4.0.TJUMIXM (Android 13) and V15.0.1.0.TJUMIXM (Android 14) and we're ready to share the results.
1. Classical method: Power + Volume Down buttons
The most versatile method that works on 90% of Android devices. On the Poco X3 Pro, there's a caveat: because of the integrated fingerprint sensor, the Power button can fire with a delay. Here's how to do it right:
- Open the screen you want to capture (for example, a dialog in the messenger or a page in the browser).
- At the same time, press the Power (right) and Volume Down (left).
- Hold no longer than 1 second β otherwise the smartphone will start to restart or activate Fastboot.
β Signs of success: the screen will blink, there will be animation save (in the MIUI 14+ β white flash at the edges, in the top notifications will appear screenshot icon.
β οΈ Note: If you have an informal firmware installed (e.g., Pixel Experience), the combination may conflict with Screenshot Tile in the Quick Settings Panel.
π‘
If the screenshot is not saved, check for free space in memory: MIUI blocks saving less than 500MB of free space.
2. Three finger gesture (the fastest way)
MIUI, which saves time, is particularly useful for gamers or for scrolling through long pages, to activate:
- Go to Settings β Additional β Special features β Three finger gesture.
- Turn on the screenshot switch (if the option is disabled, tap it).
- Swipe three fingers from top to bottom across the screen (not necessarily strictly vertically β it works diagonally).
πΉ Pros of the method:
- π Works in any application, even in games (where buttons are locked).
- π― You can take a screenshot with one hand (if the screen is not too wide).
- β‘ Faster than finding buttons β especially at night or with the backlights off.
β Cons: Sometimes triggered by accident when scrolling (e.g. in TikTok or Instagram). To disable the gesture, go back to the settings and uncheck the screenshot.
3. Notification panel and quick settings
If the physical buttons donβt work (for example, when you break or in a case), use the software method:
- Pull the notification bar down with two fingers (to reveal all icons).
- Find the Screenshot icon (usually in the front row, next to the Lantern and the Plane Mode).
- Slip on it - the smartphone will take a picture in 1 second (the countdown will be).
π§ If the icon is gone:
- π§ Press on. βοΈ Edit in the upper right corner of the panel.
- π Find a screenshot in the list and drag it to the active area.
- π Switch to the first screen for quick access.
Important: In some versions of MIUI, the icon is hidden by default β it must be added manually through panel editing.
Add the screenshot icon to the quick settings
Check that the notification bar is not blocked by the application
Disable Do Not Disturb (it can block notifications)
Make sure the screen is unlocked (on the locked screen, you will not take a screenshot)-->
4. Voice assistant Google or Xiao AI
Suitable for users with busy hands or missing sensor/buttons. Poco X3 Pro supports two voice assistants:
| Assistant | Team team. | Internet is required | It works on a locked screen. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Assistant | Okay, Google, take a screenshot. | β Yes. | β No. |
| Xiao AI (built into MIUI) | (or "Xiao Ai, screenshot") | β No (offline) | β No. |
| Google Assistant (offline) | Take a screenshot of the screen. | β Not (if the offline mode is set up) | β No. |
βοΈ How to set up:
- For Google Assistant: Go to Settings β Google β Assistant Settings β Voice Match and turn on Hey Google.
- For Xiao AI: Settings β Applications β Xiao AI β Voice control and activate Listening in the background.
β οΈ Attention: Voice commands do not work in banking applications (e.g. SberBank Online or Tinkoff) due to Android security limitations. AI You may not understand commands in Russian β use English or Chinese phrases.
5. Screenshot via ADB (for developers)
If standard methods do not work (for example, if the screen is damaged), you can take a picture through the computer.
- π₯οΈ PC Windows/Linux/macOS and established ADB.
- π USB-cable (preferably original).
- π± Included debugging by USB on a smartphone (Settings) β The phone. β Version. MIUI β 7 times to tap the assembly number β return to Settings β Additionally. β For developers β Debugging by USB).
π Instructions:
- Connect Poco X3 Pro to your PC and confirm your trust in the device.
- Open the command prompt (or Terminal) and type: Adb devices Make sure the device is defined.
- Follow the command: adb exec-out screencap -p > screenshot.png The picture will be saved in the folder from where the command was launched.
πΉ Alternative method (for advanced ones):
adb shell screencap -p /sdcard/screenshot.png
adb pull /sdcard/screenshot.pngWhat if the ADB canβt see the device?
6. Where can I find the saved screenshots?
By default, all screenshots on the Poco X3 Pro are saved in the folder:
/storage/emulated/0/Pictures/Screenshots/π How to open:
- π Through Files (built-in conductor) MIUI): open the app β Images β Screenshots.
- πΌοΈ Through Gallery: Screenshots are usually displayed separately from photos.
- π Through PC: connect the smartphone to USB Transfer files and go the way above.
βοΈ Conservation settings:
If you want to change the save location or format (e.g. PNG/JPEG):
- Install Screenshot Easy or Screen Master from Google Play.
- In the application settings, select a folder (e.g. Download/Screens) and quality (up to 100%).
π‘
Screenshots in MIUI are automatically optimized: if there is a lot of text on the screen, the system saves them in high resolution (up to 2400Γ1080), if colors prevail, it compresses up to 70% of the quality to save space.
7 Problems and Solutions: Why Can't I Take a Screenshot?
Letβs look at common mistakes and ways to correct them:
| Problem. | Possible cause | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Buttons don't respond. | Conflict with the cover or dirt under the buttons | Remove the case, wipe the buttons with alcohol, try to press harder. |
