Taking screenshots on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 seems like a simple task — until you run into a situation where standard keyboard shortcuts don’t work, such as if your power button is broken or your screen doesn’t respond to touch. In this article, we’ll look at not only classic techniques (via physical buttons and gestures), but also little-known tricks, from voice control to a hidden MIUI menu that allows you to take screenshots even with the sensor turned off.
The Redmi Note 10 features support for the MIUI shell, which offers unique ways to capture screenshots, such as a three-toed swipe (as opposed to standard Android), and the latest firmware versions have the ability to take long screenshots (scrollable pages) without third-party applications. We tested all methods on the Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10S and the base model — the instructions are relevant for all versions of the series.

1. Classic method: power buttons + volume
The most reliable method, which works even on a locked phone or in Fastboot mode, is suitable for all versions of the Redmi Note 10, including models with custom firmware.
How to do this:
- 📱 Simultaneously press the power button (right) and the volume button (top left).
- 🎯 Hold 1-2 seconds until you hear the sound of the camera shutter and see the animation screenshot.
- 📁 The finished picture will appear in the Gallery → Albums. → Screenshots.

2. Three-finger gesture: swipe down the screen
A MIUI feature that saves time, you don't have to look for buttons. The feature is enabled by default on the Redmi Note 10, but you can turn it off in the settings (more on that below).
How to do this:
- 👆 Put three fingers on the screen (for example, index, middle and ring fingers).
- 👇 Quickly swipe down the display (as if you are shaking off the water).

If the gesture doesn't work:
- Go to Settings → Additional → Special features → Gestures.
- Activate the "Three Fingers Screenshot" switch.
- Try changing the direction of the swipe (in some firmware only swipe up).

3.Voice command: "OK Google, take a screenshot"
Few people know, but Google Assistant can take voice-guided screenshots, which is helpful if your hands are busy or your touch buttons are not working, and it works on the Redmi Note 10 with MIUI 12 and up.

- Activate Google Assistant: 🗣️ Tell me: «OK Google or hold the Home button (if you have one on your launcher). 🔊 If the voice assistant is not responding, check the settings: Settings → Annexes → All applications → Google → Permits → Microphone.

4.Screenshot with sensor turned off: MIUI hidden menu
If the Redmi Note 10 screen doesn’t respond to touch (like falling or getting moisture), but you can see the image, use the hardware menu, which works even without unlocking your phone.
Instructions:
- 🔧 Connect your phone to your computer through USB-cable (you need the original cord from Xiaomi).
- 🖱️ On PC, install the Mi program PC Suite (official software from Xiaomi).
- 📱 In the program, select the Device → Screen control – a virtual display will open.
- 📸 Press the Power combination + Volume Down on the virtual screen.
Important: the screenshot will not be saved on the phone, but in the folder C:\Users\[Your name]\Pictures\MiPhoneAssistant on the computer.
Alternative (without PC):
- Connect. USB-mouse to phone OTG-adapter.
- With the mouse cursor, hover over the screen and press the right mouse button → “Screenshot”.

Hardware menu and USB-The mouse is the only way to take a screenshot if the sensor is completely turned off, but the screen is working.
5. Long screenshot: How to capture a scrolling page
MIUI allows you to take screenshots of entire web pages, chats or long documents without cropping, a feature called Scrolling Screenshot,** and works in the browser, Telegram, WhatsApp and other applications.
How to do this:

- ❌ Does not work in applications with dynamic content (for example, Instagram, TikTok).
- ❌ Maximum length - 10 screens (further cut off).
💡 Useful tip: If you need to save a long chat from WhatsApp, export it to a text file first (Chat Settings) → Export, and then take a screenshot of the file – this will save an unlimited number of messages.
6 Where screenshots are stored and how to edit them
