But many users face problems: screens are not saved, disappear from the gallery or are created with artifacts. In this article, we will analyze all working methods, including hidden MIUI functions, and explain how to avoid typical errors.
Important: the instructions are relevant for MIUI 12.5-14 firmware (including global and Chinese versions). If you have a different shell (for example, HyperOS), some points may differ - check the version in Settings → About Phone → MIUI version.
1. Standard method: power and volume buttons
The most reliable method, even working on a locked screen (if the appropriate setting is enabled), is suitable for Xiaomi 11 Lite NE and 11 Lite 5G regardless of the firmware version.
How to do this:
- Open the screen you want to capture (application, web page, dialogue).
- Press the power button (right) and the volume button (left) at the same time.
- Hold for 1-2 seconds until you hear the shutter sound and see the screenshot animation.
Where to look for results? The screenshot is automatically saved to the DCIM → Screenshots folder (available through the Gallery or any file manager). If the folder is empty, check the permissions for the Gallery application in Settings → Applications → Permissions Management.

- Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to open the notification bar.
- Find the Screenshot icon (usually hidden under additional buttons – click on three dots or swipe the panel to the left).
- Slip the icon - the screenshot will be taken instantly.

5. Hidden features: long screening and editing
