Saved passwords on Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphones are convenient, but not always secure. Over time, the list of logins and passwords grows, and some accounts become unnecessary or outdated. Moreover, if a device falls into the wrong hands, stored data can become a vulnerability. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to delete passwords, from standard MIUI settings to hidden Android features.
It's important to understand that passwords are stored in different places: in the browser, in the Google account manager, in the MIUI system storage, and even in some applications. We'll look at each option separately so you can completely clear the device of unnecessary data. 1. Delete passwords in the browser (Chrome, Mi Browser, Firefox)
Most Xiaomi users use browsers to log in to websites, and that's where most of the stored passwords are stored. The cleaning process varies from application to application, but the general logic is similar. Let's look at the three most popular options.
In Google Chrome, the way to set passwords is this: open your browser, tap on ⋮ (three-point) → Settings → Passwords. Here you'll see a list of all saved accounts:

- 🗑️ Slip on the record and select Remove (basket icon).
- 🔄 Press for mass cleaning ⋮ → Delete all passwords (confirmation required).
In the branded browser Mi Browser, the path is slightly different: ⋮ → Settings → Confidentiality → Save passwords. Here the interface is simpler, just hold your finger on the recordings and choose Delete. Note that Mi Browser syncs passwords with your Xiaomi account, so once deleted, they will disappear on other devices with the same account.

If you are using Firefox, go to ☰ → Settings → Logins and passwords. You can delete the records one by one or export them to the Internet. CSV before cleaning.
2. Clear passwords in MIUI settings (system storage)
MIUI has its own password store, which is used to autocomplete in apps and websites. To get there, open Settings → Passwords and Security → Passwords App. Here you will see all the saved data, broken down into categories: Apps, Websites and Credit Cards (if you added).
For removal:
- Select a category (e.g., Websites).
- Slip on the desired record and click Remove (basket icon in the upper right corner).
- Confirm the action at the request of the system.
If you want to delete all passwords at once, go to ⋮ → Settings → Clear the data. Please note that this will also reset your autocomplete settings. Importantly, if you have synced with your Xiaomi account enabled, passwords will be deleted from all devices where you are logged in.

3. Delete passwords from your Google account
If you use Google Autocomplete, all of your passwords can be stored in the cloud. To clear them, you don't have to go into your smartphone settings -- just go to Google Password Manager from any device, but we'll look at how to do it directly on Xiaomi.
Go to Settings → Google → Managing Google Account → Security → Password Manager. Here you will see all the stored data synchronized with your account.
- 🌐 Passwords are deleted from all devices where you are logged in to Google.
- 🔄 Changes are not immediate – it may take up to 5 minutes to sync.
- 📱 On some devices, the path may be different: Settings → Accounts. → Google → Account management.
If you want to disable password saving in Google completely, go back to Security and deactivate Autocomplete Passwords.This will not delete the data you have already saved, but will stop adding new ones.
4. Clearing passwords in applications (Wi-Fi, mail, social networks)
Many apps (like Facebook, Instagram, VK, or email clients) save passwords by themselves, bypassing the system storage, and you have to go into each application’s settings to delete them.
Social networks and messengers:
- 📘 Facebook/Instagram: ☰ → Settings → Password and security → Saved logins.
- 💬 WhatsApp/Telegram: passwords are not saved, but you can log out of your account in Settings → Account. → Get out.
- 🐦 Twitter (X): ⚙️ → Settings and privacy → Security → Sessions (remove unnecessary devices).
Email clients (Gmail, Mi Mail):
- 📧 Gmail: ☰ → Settings → Account management → Delete the account.
- 📩 In Mi Mail: ⋮ → Account settings → Delete the account.
For Wi-Fi networks, the way is as follows: Settings → Wi-Fi → ⚙️ net-side → Forget the network. This will delete the saved password for a particular access point. If you want to clear all networks at once, use Settings. → Wi-Fi → Additionally. → Network management → Remove all (not available on all firmware).

5. Complete reset (if you sell your phone)
If you plan to sell or transfer your Xiaomi, simply removing passwords is not enough, you need to perform a full factory reset to erase all personal data, including:
- 🔑 Saved passwords (including hidden system passwords).
- 📱 Application data and accounts.
- 📁 Files in internal memory (photos, videos, documents).
- 📡 Settings for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile network.
Instructions for discharge:
- Make a backup copy of important data (photos, contacts, messages).
- Go to Settings → About Phone → Resetting → Erase all data.
- Enter. PIN-code or pattern lock for confirmation.
- Wait until the process is completed (it will take 5-15 minutes).
After the reset, the phone will reboot to the “out of the box” state. Importantly, on some Xiaomi models (for example, the Redmi Note 10 Pro or POCO X3 Pro) after the reset, you may need to re-assign your Mi Account if Mi Cloud was enabled. If you forget your account data, you will have to contact Xiaomi support to unlock.

6. Additional security measures after cleaning
Deleting passwords is only part of the security process, and to minimize the risks, follow a few additional steps:

Frequent Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
When passwords are deleted, users often face typical problems, and here are the most common ones and ways to solve them:
⚠️ Note: If you have deleted the password from the system storage, but it is still substituted when you log in to the site, check the autocomplete settings in the browser.
Problem 1: After deleting the password is still saved.
- 🔄 Check sync with your Xiaomi or Google account – data could be recovered from the cloud.
- 🧹 Clear the browser or app cache where autocomplete occurs.
Problem 2: I can't find the Passwords section in the settings.
- 📱 Update the firmware to the latest version – in older versions MIUI This section may not be available.
- 🔍 Use the search by settings (the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner).
Problem 3: After a phone reset, an old Mi Account is required.
- 🔑 This is a feature of Mi Cloud Lock, which is anti-theft protection. If you forget the data, contact Xiaomi with proof of ownership of the device.
