But there are workarounds, from embedded tools to third-party utilities. We tested each method on current firmware (2026) and pointed out limitations, for example, passwords from applications installed through APKs may not show up in the system manager.

1. passwords from the browser (Chrome, Mi Browser, Firefox)

The easiest way is to look at passwords saved in the browser. Xiaomi has Mi Browser installed by default, but many users use Google Chrome.

In Chrome, the way is this: open the browser β†’ tap on three points (menu) β†’ Settings β†’ Passwords. This will show you a list of sites with logins. To see the password, you need to type in the password. PIN-Note: If sync with Google Account is disabled, passwords are stored locally only.

  • πŸ” Firefox: Menu β†’ Settings β†’ Logins and passwords. You need a Firefox master password to view (if you have installed it).
  • ⚠️ Restriction: Passwords from Incognito Mode are not saved in any browser.

If your browser doesn’t show you saved data, check your sync settings. For example, in Chrome, go to Settings β†’ Sync and Google Services and make sure the Passwords option is enabled. Xiaomi with MIUI 14+ may need additional permission in Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Chrome β†’ Permissions.

  1. Go to Settings. β†’ Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap on the current network name (not the switch!).
  3. In the window that opens, click Share (or Share).
  4. Confirm the action with the help of PIN-code, fingerprint or face ID.
  5. The password will appear as QR-code and text.

This method works on all devices with MIUI 11+. older versions may require root rights or ADB use. Also note that some public networks (such as in a cafe) may block the ability to view a password.

What to do if the β€œShare” button is inactive?
This means that the network uses enterprise authentication (e.g., RADIUS) or is protected by a non-standard protocol (WPA3-Enterprise), in which case the password can only be learned through the router or network administrator.

If you need to save a password for future use, take a screenshot of the screen with QR-code or write a text password to a secure location (e.g., Google Keep with encryption). Avoid sending screenshots through messengers - it is not secure.
