Forgot your password from social network, mail or Wi-Fi, but remember exactly what you entered it on your Xiaomi? Don't rush to reset settings or look for old entries in your notebook. Modern smartphones based on MIUI save many passwords automatically โ they can be extracted directly from the system menu, browser or account manager. In this article, we will analyze all the legal ways to find passwords on Redmi phones, POCO and other Xiaomi lines without root rights and third-party utilities.
It's important to understand that not all passwords are stored in plain view, for example, data from banking applications or messengers (such as WhatsApp or Telegram) are usually encrypted and not accessible to view, but passwords from Wi-Fi, Google accounts stored in Chrome or the standard MIUI browser, and some logins from social networks can be extracted in a few clicks.
1. Wi-Fi passwords on Xiaomi: how to watch without root
If you've connected to a wireless network at least once, the password is saved in the MIUI system settings. You don't need to install additional programs to see it, you just need to know where to look, and this method works on all current firmware versions (from MIUI 12 to MIUI 14).
Open the Settings menu โ Wi-Fi and follow the following steps:
- ๐ถ Find the network you want in the list and tap it by its name.
- ๐ In the window that opens, click on the Share icon (or Share in the English version of the firmware).
- ๐ The system will request proof of identity โ enter PIN-code, pattern lock or scan your fingerprint.
- ๐ After the authorization will appear QR-code and text password underneath.
If the share button is missing, then the network is saved without a password (open access point) or you connected through WPS. In this case, you will not be able to extract the password.
โ ๏ธ Note: Some Xiaomi models (e.g. Redmi Note) 10 pro POCO X3 Pro after updating to MIUI 13/14 The Share button can hide behind a long tap by the network name. 2โ3 A few seconds before the context menu appears.

If you need to transfer your password to another phone, just scan it. QR-code through the camera of the second device - it automatically connects to the network.
2. saved passwords in the browser (Chrome, MIUI Browser, Firefox)
Xiaomi browsers by default offer to save usernames and passwords when logging in to sites. This data is stored in encrypted form, but you can view it through your browser settings. Consider three popular options: Google Chrome, standard MIUI Browser and Mozilla Firefox.
2.1 Passwords in Google Chrome
If you use Chrome as your primary browser, all saved passwords are synced to your Google account to see them:
- Open Chrome and tap three-points (โฎ) top-right.
- Select Settings โ Passwords.
- Sign in if necessary (enter PIN or fingerprint).
- In the list, find the desired site and click on the eye icon (๐๏ธ) password-wise.
Passwords in MIUI Browser
The standard MIUI browser also stores data for autocomplete.
- ๐ Launch it. MIUI Browser (Blue Globe badge).
- ๐ง Go to Settings. โ Confidentiality โ Saved passwords.
- ๐ Unblock access using biometrics or PIN-code.
- ๐ In the list, select the site and click on the line with the password - it will appear in plain form.
2.3 Passwords in Mozilla Firefox
Firefox stores passwords in its own manager to extract them:
- Open Firefox and tap on three points (โฎ) โ Settings.
- Select Logins and Passwords.
- Log in (if required) and find the right site in the list.
- Click on the record - the password will appear after confirmation.
โ ๏ธ Note: If you delete your browser or reset your phone to factory settings, password recovery is impossible without a backup. Google and Firefox sync data to the cloud, and MIUI Browser only stores them locally.
3. Passwords from Google, Mi and other services
Xiaomi smartphones have at least two accounts by default: Google (for Play Market, Gmail, YouTube) and Mi Account (for cloud backups and branded services), passwords from which you can view or reset directly in the phone settings.
3.1 Password from Google account
If you forgot your Google password, but your phone is already logged in:
- ๐ฑ Go to Settings. โ Accounts and synchronization โ Google.
- ๐ Click on your email. โ Managing a Google Account.

4. Passwords from applications (VK, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
Unfortunately, most mobile apps (including VK, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook) donโt save passwords in plain view on the device.
- ๐ Recovery through email/SMS. Open the app, click Forgot your password? and follow the instructions. Most social networks let you reset your password without the old one.
- ๐ฅ Check emails from the service. Find emails with the subject line "Your new password" or "Recovery code" - often there are old data.
- ๐ Password managers. 1Password, KeePass or Bitwarden, check their storage.
- ๐ฑ Backup copy MIUI. If you have previously done backup through Settings โ Additionally. โ Backup, passwords could be saved in the archive (but it is difficult to extract them without root).
For some applications (such as WhatsApp or Telegram), password recovery is impossible โ they are tied to a phone number and do not store data on the device.

5. How to export passwords from Xiaomi to another phone
If you're planning to change your smartphone or you want to keep your passwords safe, you can export them.
| Password type | How to export | File format |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi passwords | Through QR-code (see section 1) or manual input | โ |

| Passwords from MIUI Browser | Manual transfer only (exports not supported) | โ |
| Google account | Google Takeout (Passwords section) | CSV/JSON |
| Mi Account | Backup through Settings โ Xiaomi Account โ Cloud | MIUI Backup |

โ ๏ธ Note: Exported passwords are stored in plain form. after transfer, be sure to delete the file CSV from your phone or PC to avoid data leakage.
6. Can you see passwords without root rights?
Many users are looking for ways to extract all passwords from a Xiaomi phone without getting root access, which is unfortunately impossible for the following reasons:
- ๐ Encryption MIUI. The system stores critical data (for example, passwords from banking applications) in encrypted form, accessible only to the OS kernel.
- ๐ก๏ธ Android Security Policy: Starting with Android 10, Google has tightened up privacy requirements.
- ๐ฑ Manufacturer restrictions: Xiaomi doesn't provide tools for massive password extraction (unlike the iPhone, which has iCloud Keychain).
The only legal ways are the ones described above: browsing through your Wi-Fi settings, browsers or accounts.
- ๐ง Getting root rights (risk of losing warranty and breaching security).
- ๐ป Use of the ADB (It requires technical knowledge and does not always work on new versions. MIUI).
- ๐ฆ Restore from backup (if it was created in advance).
๐ก
Without root rights to Xiaomi, you can only extract the passwords that the system shows itself: Wi-Fi, browsers and associated accounts. The rest of the data is protected at the OS level.
