Losing a smartphone is stressful, especially when it comes to a device with personal data, photos and access to banking applications. Xiaomi offers several built-in tools to protect you in such cases, but their effectiveness depends on the speed of your actions. The first 30-60 minutes after losing it are critical: this is when you are likely to track the phone using GPS or block it remotely.
In this article, we've got a checklist of emergency measures to help minimize risks, and we'll look at how to work with Mi Cloud and Find My Device, and what to do if you want to do something about it. 1.Immediate Action: Locking and Searching through Mi Cloud
If your Xiaomi is connected to your Mi Account (and it should be!), you have the chance to remotely lock your device or even erase your data.

5 What to do if the phone is turned off or discharged
If a device doesn't respond to Mi Cloud or Find My Device, it doesn't mean it's impossible to find. Here's what you can do:

If you buy a new Xiaomi, the first time you turn on, the system will offer to restore data from the backup of the Mi Cloud. Select the last backup โ this will return the settings, applications and some files (if they were saved to the cloud).
7 How to protect a new phone from loss
To avoid such situations in the future, set up a new Xiaomi smartphone according to these recommendations:
