Displaying the exact percentage of charge on Xiaomi is one of the most popular features among smartphone owners of the brand. Although MIUI by default hides this information behind the battery icon, you can turn on the digital display in a few seconds β without root rights, third-party applications or complex manipulation. In this article, we will analyze 5 proven ways, including hidden settings for older versions of the firmware, and explain why some models of Redmi and POCO percentages may not show even after activation.
The problem is that Xiaomi regularly changes the layout of the option in the menu, and in the latest versions of MIUI 14 and HyperOS, the logic of displaying the charge generally depends on the chosen design theme. We tested all methods on devices from Redmi Note 10 Pro (2021) to Xiaomi 14 Ultra (2026) and highlighted universal solutions that work on 90% of models. If you do not find the right option, do not rush to reset: most likely, the problem is in the firmware versions or regional restrictions (for more details, see the section on hidden developer parameters).
We warn you right away: on some budget models (for example, Redmi A1 or POCO C50), the display of interest can be blocked at the firmware level, in which case only installing a custom launcher or manual editing of system files will help - but this is already a topic for a separate article.
1. Standard method through "Settings" (MIUI 12β14)
The simplest method that works on most Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones with a firmware version at least MIUI 12. The instructions are relevant for devices from 2020 to 2026, including the flagship Xiaomi 13/14 series and the mid-budget Redmi Note 12.
Open the Settings app (cog icon) and follow the following steps:
- π± Go to the Screen section (or the Display on some models).
- π Scroll down to Status String (or Notification Panel).
- π Find the option to Show battery level (can be called Charge Percentage or Battery Indicator).
- β Activate the switch next to the item Inside the icon or Next to the icon (depending on version) MIUI).
If you don't have an option on this menu, don't panic. On some firmware (e.g. MIUI 13.5 for the global version), the path is different: Settings β Battery β Battery settings β Charge level display. Also check if the option is hidden behind the additional theme options (more on this below).
Make sure your smartphone is 20% or more charged
Update MIUI to the latest version
Restart the device (sometimes helps)
Try changing the theme to standard-->
Change of theme (for MIUI 14 and HyperOS)
In the latest versions of Xiaomi firmware, the percentage of charge displayed is tied to the chosen theme. If you use a custom theme from the Theme, the option can be blocked. Here's how to fix it:
Go to Settings β Theme (or open the Themes app separately). Select a standard MIUI or HyperOS theme (usually the first one on the list). After applying the theme, check if the percentage option appears in the screen settings. If yes, activate it, then go back to your favorite theme (percentages will remain).
On some devices (such as the Xiaomi 12T), this method works even if the option is hidden in the basic settings. If it doesn't work, try the following method.
π‘
After changing the theme, restart your smartphone. Sometimes the changes only apply after the reboot.
3. Activation through βDeveloper Settingsβ
If standard methods donβt work, you can turn on percentages through the hidden developer settings, which is suitable for devices on MIUI 11-14, but you need to be careful not to change other options in this menu unnecessarily.
First, activate the developer mode:
- Go to Settings. β The phone.
- Find the MIUI version and tap it 7 times in a row.
- Enter your Xiaomi account password if required.
Now open Settings β More β Developer (or Settings β System β Advanced Settings β Developers). Scroll down to Debugging and find the option:
- π Show battery power in percentage (in English firmware - Battery percentage).
- π If you donβt have an option, try to find the Status bar. β Style of battery indicator.
Activate the switch and restart the device. On some models (POCO F3, Redmi K40), this method works even if the option is not in the main menu.

4.Use of widgets and alternative launchers
If the system methods didn't work, you can display the percentages of charge to the main screen using widgets or third-party launchers, which does not change the display in the status bar, but allows you to always see the exact level of charge.
The most reliable options are:
- π± Widget "Battery": a long tap on the main screen β Widgets β Find the Battery widget (usually in the Tools section).
- π Nova Launcher: Supports interest display in the notification bar even if MIUI Install from Google Play, then select Notification Panel in the launcher settings β Show battery percentages.
- π Battery Percentage: Shows interest as a floating window (overlaid on top of other apps).
The downside of this method is that the percentages will only be visible on the home screen or as a floating window, but not in the status bar, but it works on all models, including those where MIUI artificially blocks the function (for example, on some Redmi 9A and POCO M3).

5. Manual editing of system files (for advanced)
If all the previous methods didn't work, the last option is editing system files, which requires root rights or unlocked bootloader, and knowledge of working with ADB. We don't recommend it for beginners, but if you're willing to take a chance, here's a step-by-step guide.
Connect your smartphone to your PC, activate Debugging over USB (Settings β Developers) and execute:
adb shell settings put global battery_percent 1For Android 12+ devices, you may need an additional command:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist batteryAfter completing the commands, restart the smartphone. If the percentages do not appear, check if the current theme of the registration block them (go back to the method). β2).

Editing system files can cause MIUI to malfunction. Before experimenting, back up through Settings β Additional β Backup.
Compatibility table by model
We tested the percentage display on popular Xiaomi devices, and the table below shows the current data as of May 2026:
| Model | MIUI/HyperOS | Method β1 (Settings) | Method β2 (Theme) | Method β3 (Developer) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi 14 Pro | HyperOS 1.0 | β Yes. | β Yes. | β No. |
| Redmi Note 12 Pro+ | MIUI 14 | β Yes. | β Yes. | β οΈ Partially. |
| POCO F5 | MIUI 14 (Global) | β No. | β Yes. | β Yes. |
| Redmi 10C | MIUI 13.5 | β No. | β οΈ Sometimes. | β Yes. |
| Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra | MIUI 12.5 Enhanced | β Yes. | β Yes. | β No. |
If your model isn't in the table, try all of the ways in order. New devices (2023-2026) usually have a way of doing it. β1 β2 and on the old (Redmi 8, Mi) A3) may require a β3 or β5.
Frequent problems and solutions
Even after the percentage of charge is activated, users encounter bugs, and here are the most common problems and solutions:
- π Percentages disappear after rebooting: reset the theme settings to standard or update MIUI.
- π± Percentages are shown only when charging: check if the energy saving theme is activated (for example, Ultra battery saver).
- β‘ Battery icon gets too big: go back to Settings β Screen. β Status bar and select Style icon β Small one.
- π Interest rates are not updated in real time: calibrate the battery (discharge to 0%, then charge to 100% without interruption).
If after all the manipulations, the percentages never appeared, check if you have custom software installed (for example, Pixel Experience or LineageOS), in such firmware, the logic of displaying charge may differ.
π‘
On some models (like the Redmi Note 11), percentages don't show up in games or full-screen apps. This is normal MIUI behavior, so you save screen space.
β οΈ Attention: On devices with AMOLED-screens (e.g. Xiaomi 13 or Xiao) POCO X5 Pro) a constant display of interest can increase battery consumption by 1-3% per hour due to pixel activity. If autonomy is critical, disable the function in the settings.
β οΈ Note: On firmware for the Chinese region (for example, MIUI CN) The percentage option is often blocked. To unlock it, you need to change the region to the global one (Settings) β Additionally. β Region β Russia/India) and complete resetting.
