4030 mAh
In this article, we have 5 proven diagnostic methods, from hidden engineering menus to professional applications, you will learn how to check the actual battery capacity (not the one the system shows), detect accelerated wear and even calibrate the charge controller if the phone lies about percentages, and also a table of correspondence charging and degradation cycles for the Mi 9 Lite, which you will not find in official sources.
Important: The methods are suitable for all versions of MIUI (including MIUI 14), but some engineering codes may not work on custom firmware. If your Mi 9 Lite is rooted, use alternative methods from the app section.
Quick check through the engineering menu (#4636##)
The easiest way to get basic information about a battery is to use the Android hidden menu, which won't show you the exact capacity in mAh, but it will help you estimate the temperature, voltage and charging status.
- Open the Phone app.
- Enter the combination: ##4636## (no spaces).
- In the menu that appears, select Battery Information.
What to look at in the results:
- π Level: Must match the percentages on the notification panel. If the difference is greater than 5%, the controller is lying.
- π‘οΈ Temperature: Normally 25β40Β°C. If above 45Β°C in normal use β the battery degrades rapidly.
- β‘ Voltage: 100% charge should be ~4.35-4.40 V. If below 4.2 V, the capacity has fallen.
- π Technology: it must be Li-polymer, if the other is a battery replaced by a non-original one.
β οΈ Note: If the menu does not open after entering the code, check if the engineering codes in the settings are disabled. MIUI. To do this, go to the Settings. β The phone. β Version. MIUI and tap 7 times on the Kernel line (Kernel version).

X-Secret Code for Xiaomi: ##6484## (MTK Engineer Mode)
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite is built on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, but it has a hidden menu from MediaTek that somehow works. It shows the real battery capacity in mAh, the very parameter that MIUI hides.
Instructions:
- Open the phone and type in ##6484##.
- Choose. MTK Settings β Hardware Testing.
- Slip Battery.
In the table, find the lines:
- π Battery Capacity: current capacity in mAh. Compare with passport 4030 mAh. If the difference is greater than 20%, the battery is worn out.
- π Battery Health: Health percentage, below 80% critical.
- π Charging Status: If it shows Not charging when connected RAM, a problem with the controller or cable.
| Parameter | Normal for Mi 9 Lite | Critical significance |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity (mAh) | 3800β4030 | <3000 |
| Health (%) | 90β100 | <70 |
| Temperature (Β°C) | 25β40 | >50 |
| Voltage (B) | 4.35β4.40 (100%) | <4.0 |
β οΈ Note: On some firmware, this code may reset network settings. APN (Go to Settings. β SIM-maps and mobile networks β Access points (APN) And take a screenshot).

3. Deep Diagnostics Applications: AccuBattery vs AIDA64
Standard MIUI tools often lie about battery status. Use third-party utilities to verify the exact state of the battery. We tested 10 apps and selected the two best ones for the Mi 9 Lite:
AccuBattery (free, with premium options)
- π Shows real capacity (compared to passport).
- π Tracks charging cycles and predicts wear and tear.
- β‘ Analyzes the discharge rate by application.
- π Builds degradation graphs over months of use.
How to use:
- Install it from Google Play.
- Charge your phone to 100% and wait for the calibration (1-2 cycles).
- Go to the Health tab.
AIDA64 (paid version)
- π Shows an accurate model of the battery (for example, BD4030 original).
- π‘ Tests internal resistance (above 200 mOhms - wear and tear).
- π Save logs for comparison with new data.
Where to download: Google Play (the free version does not show all options).
| Parameter | AccuBattery | AIDA64 |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity (mAh) | β | β |
| Charging cycles | β | β |
| Model battery model | β | β |
| Resistance | β | β |

4.Visual signs of battery wear Mi 9 Lite
Sometimes you can determine the state of the battery without the application.
- π₯ The phone warms up without loading: if the body is heated to 40Β°C+ in standby mode, the battery degraded.
- β‘ Fast discharge at low temperature: in the cold (<0Β°C) the container falls on 30β50%. If the phone is turned off through 10 minutes - battery worn out.
- π Percentage jumps, like 30% jumps 15% at once, which is a sign of a controller being out of sync.
- π Does not hold a charge of 100%: if after switching off the RAM percentage falls to 95% in 5 minutes - capacity is critically low.
- π₯ Body bloating: check if there's a gap between the screen and the frame. Xiaomi batteries are swelling less often than Samsung's, but there's a risk.
If you notice at least 2 signs from the list, itβs time to check the battery with tools from the previous sections.
β οΈ Warning: On the Mi 9 Lite, the bloated battery can press the vibrator motor (located to the right of the battery). If the vibration has become weaker or has disappeared, this is an indirect sign of deformation.
What to do if the battery is blown?
Calibration of the charge controller (if interest lies)
Sometimes the problem isn't the battery, but the charge controller, which is not showing interest correctly, so for example, the phone turns off by 30 percent, and when you plug it in, the RAM goes up to zero and it goes right on, and calibration will help.
Instructions for Mi 9 Lite:
- Discharge the phone before automatically shutting down.
- Connect the original RAM and charge for at least 8 hours (yes, even if the indicator shows 100% sooner).
- Turn off the charger, turn off the phone, and reconnect the RAM. Wait for it to turn on (usually takes 10-15 minutes).
- Repeat the discharge/charging cycle again.
If after calibration, the percentages still jump, the problem is the hardware (battery wear or controller malfunction), in which case only replacement will help.
π‘
Calibration only helps with software failures: If the battery is physically worn out (capacity <3000 mAh), no calibration will return the previous time.
6.When it's time to change the battery: the degradation table
The manufacturer claims that the Mi 9 Lite battery can withstand 500 full charge cycles to a loss of 20% capacity, but real tests show that after 300 cycles, capacity drops by 15-25%.
| Charging cycles | Average capacity loss | Signs. | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0β100 | 0β5% | No noticeable change. | Continue to use |
| 100β250 | 5β15% | Fast discharge during loading (games, videos) | Check the capacity once every 3 months |
| 250β400 | 15β30% | The phone does not hold a charge for more than 12 hours in standby mode. | Prepare for replacement |
| 400β500 | 30β50% | Turns off at 20-30%, warms up for no reason | Urgent replacement |
| 500+ | 50%+ | Not included without charging, swelling of the body | It's dangerous to use! |
To find out the number of cycles on your phone:
- Install AIDA64.
- Go to the Battery. β Statistics.
- Find the Charge cycles line.
If the cycle doesnβt show up, use AccuBattery (it counts the cycles itself after installation).
